Assistant Coach Nick Nasenbeny
Coach Nasenbeny, a Plainfield Central alum, brings a distinguished wrestling background to the Wildcat program. As a high school competitor, he was a four-time IHSA state qualifier and a three-time state placer, achieving 156 career wins. His success extended to the national level, earning High School All-American honors five times and competing as a Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Qualifier. Additionally, he was a key member of Team Illinois’ National Dual Team, securing titles as a three-time Greco state champion and a one-time Freestyle state champion.
Coach Nasenbeny continued his wrestling career at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), a Division I program, where he was a four-year NCAA letter winner. During his tenure, he contributed to a program that won four consecutive conference championships and achieved four straight NCAA top-10 team finishes.
Now working in medical sales, Coach Nasenbeny remains committed to mentoring the next generation of wrestlers. His extensive competitive experience, combined with his dedication to athlete development, makes him a valuable asset to the Plainfield Central wrestling program.
Assistant Coach Nathan Davis
Coach Davis brings a distinguished wrestling background to the Plainfield Central program. A two-time IHSA state placer and 2013 state finalist, he was recognized among the nation’s top high school wrestlers, earning a place in the Top 25 national rankings. He continued his wrestling career at Lincoln College, where he further honed his skills and deepened his understanding of the sport at the collegiate level.
Now a union professional, Coach Davis remains dedicated to mentoring young wrestlers and fostering a culture of discipline, perseverance, and excellence. His expertise and commitment make him a valuable asset to the Wildcat wrestling program.
Assistant Coach Tommy Gustafson
Coach Gustafson brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the Plainfield Central wrestling program. A highly accomplished athlete, he was the Illinois 3A state runner-up in 2018 at 220 pounds. He continued his athletic and academic pursuits at Lindenwood University, where he competed in both wrestling and football. Now serving as a substitute teacher, Coach Gustafson is deeply committed to guiding student-athletes both on and off the mat. His firsthand experience at the highest levels of high school and collegiate athletics, combined with his passion for mentorship, makes him a valuable asset to the Wildcat wrestling program.
